Introducing JURA to Verbe: Swiss Precision, Now Part of the Verbe Home
There are some products you buy because you need them, and others that quietly change the way you do something every day. A great coffee machine falls into the second category.
We’re excited to welcome JURA to Verbe — a brand that has spent decades refining the idea that exceptional coffee at home shouldn’t require a barista, a complicated setup or a trip to your favourite café.
For us, bringing JURA to Verbe makes sense for a simple reason: it represents the same kind of product we increasingly look for when deciding what belongs on Verbe. Well designed. Technically excellent. Built with purpose. And good enough to become part of your everyday life.
A Swiss story that started in 1931
JURA’s story began in Switzerland in 1931, when Leo Henzirohs founded JURA Elektroapparate AG. The company originally produced a broad range of household electrical appliances, always with an emphasis on making everyday tasks easier through engineering and innovation.
Coffee eventually became the defining chapter in that story.
JURA entered the automatic coffee-machine space in the 1980s and, by the mid-1990s, made the decision to concentrate its business on automatic speciality coffee machines. That focus has remained central to the brand ever since.
Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, JURA became a specialist.
And you can see that focus in the machines.

From whole beans to coffee at the touch of a button
The appeal of JURA is not simply automation. Plenty of appliances can make something convenient.
The difference is what JURA has tried to automate: the experience of a properly prepared cup of coffee.
Its machines are designed around freshly ground beans, grinding coffee immediately before extraction rather than relying on capsules or pre-ground portions. Depending on the machine, users can prepare everything from espresso and traditional black coffee to cappuccino, flat white, latte macchiato and other milk-based specialities at the touch of a button.
That sounds simple when you read it on a product page. In practice, there is a considerable amount happening inside the machine.
Grinding, dosing, extraction, water temperature, pressure, milk preparation and cleaning all need to work together consistently. JURA’s approach has been to make much of that technology disappear from the user experience.
You choose your coffee. The machine takes care of the rest.
That is probably the best way to understand the brand: serious coffee technology without making coffee feel complicated.
Designed to live in your kitchen
Performance matters, but a premium appliance also has to make sense when it is sitting on your counter every day.
JURA has always placed unusual importance on industrial design. Clean surfaces, restrained detailing and simple interfaces mean its machines feel more like considered pieces of kitchen equipment than appliances you want to put away after using them.
It is another reason the brand feels right for Verbe.
Our approach to The Modern Home and The Barista Collection isn't about filling the site with hundreds of appliances simply because we can. We want to build a collection of products where design, usefulness and quality come together.
A coffee machine might be used several times before 10am alone. If something is going to occupy that much space in your routine — and on your kitchen counter — it should be something you genuinely enjoy owning.
Why JURA fits Verbe
Verbe has changed considerably over the past few years.
What began with a strong foundation in activewear has grown into a much broader destination for the products that form part of modern life — from footwear, performance and wellness to coffee, technology and the home.
On paper, running shoes and a Swiss coffee machine may seem worlds apart.
To us, they aren't.
The common thread is good products.
Products where the difference becomes obvious once you use them. Products from brands that invest in design and innovation rather than chasing the quickest solution. Products that people research, save for, recommend to their friends and keep for years.
JURA fits comfortably into that world.
The company itself puts quality, innovation, design, longevity and sustainability at the centre of its philosophy. Its machines are designed with long-term use and serviceability in mind, rather than around a disposable appliance cycle.
That matters to us. Particularly with a premium purchase, value shouldn't only be measured by how much something costs on the day you buy it. It should also be measured by how often you use it, how well it performs and how long you enjoy owning it.
The luxury is in the everyday
Coffee has become one of those small daily rituals that people care deeply about.
We know the feeling: finding the beans you like, getting the strength right, knowing exactly which cup you reach for in the morning.
JURA takes that ritual and removes much of the effort without removing what makes it enjoyable.
There is something particularly satisfying about walking into your kitchen in the morning, touching one button and hearing whole coffee beans being ground for your cup seconds later.
No pods stacked in a drawer. No separate grinder. No learning how to steam milk before your first meeting of the day.
Just fresh coffee, made the way you like it.
And perhaps that is where the real appeal of JURA sits. These are undoubtedly premium machines, but the luxury isn't simply the machine itself.
The luxury is having genuinely good coffee become ordinary.

Welcome to Verbe, JURA
Bringing JURA onto Verbe is another step in building the kind of store we want Verbe to become: a place where you can discover some of the world's best brands across the different parts of your life, without losing the careful selection that made you trust us in the first place.
JURA has been refining its craft since 1931. Today, its focus remains remarkably clear: beautifully designed automatic machines made for people who take their coffee seriously, even when they don't want making it to be serious work.
We're very pleased to have it here.
